Troy Matthew Deeney is an English professional footballer who is the captain of the premier league club Watford. He started his professional career at Walsall in 2006 where he played 123 games and scored 23 goals. On 4th august Deeny handed in a written transfer request, he signed for Watford two days later and on that day he played a part in a 3-2 win against Norwich, he came on in the second half. Deeney went on to make 40 appearances that season with 20 starts but he only scored 3 goals.
In June 2012 Deeney was sentenced to 10 months in prison for kicking a man in the head during a fight, but because he was a first time offender and he showed his remorse he was released after only 3 months. Deeney’s first start after the release came against Huddersfield Town where he scored the last goal of the game to make it 3-2 and win Watford the game.
After the prison Deeney became much better for watford scoring 20 goals the next two seasons, the season after that Deeney was named the captain of Watford, he scored 20 goals and helped the team getting a promotion to the premier league. In his first season in the premier league Deeney managed to score 13 goals and provided 5 assists in 38 games.
amongst those 13 goals one came against Manchester United in the 88th minute where he equalised to 2-2 but then later in the 93rd minute he scored an own goal and United won the game 3-2
It’s amazing that a player that is known for his stupidity and not scoring that many goals can be a top striker in a team that is a mid table team in the Premier league.
Here you can see the fan chant for Troy.
