Trent is a young player who has made quite a name for himself this year. Liverpool where in big problems when their first choice right-back Nathaniel Clyne got a long term injury last year. Their only backups where Trent and Joe Gomez two young English players and Joe Gomez is originally a centre back. Trent has been a Liverpool player since he started playing football in 2004 when he was only 6 years old. Played with the youth teams until 2016 when he finally got his first team call up. He has played for all England’s youth teams from U16 and always considered a promising right back. His official debut was in a 2-1 win over Tottenham in the EFL cup on the 15th of October 2016 only 18 years old. He got himself a spot in the EFL cup team of the round after that performance. That season Trent played in a total of 12 games across all competitions. Then the injury happened to Clyne and he as well as most of us thought this was his chance but that didn’t happen cause Klopp decided to start Gomez in Clyne’s positing in his absence.

Liverpool where having a good season and looking too challenge for top four and qualify for the round of sixteen in the champions league. Despite not starting in the premier league he got a chance early on in the play-off match against hoffenheim for the champions league and managed to score a great free kick goal. His first ever goal for the first team. That made him the third youngest goal scorer for Liverpool in European competition. He scored another one in the champions league group stages against Maribor in a 7-0 win. Around February Joe Gomez had an injury and Trent got the starting position and there is no looking back, he has played out of his mind and was fantastic in both games against Manchester City locking Leroy Sane up. That also made him the youngest English player to play in the champion’s league quarterfinals. People are now questioning if Gareth Southgate will take him in the England squad to Russia. Will Klopp keep faith in the young man for the semi finals against Roma with Clyne back?
