Sam Vokes born 21 october 1989. He is a professional football player and plays for Burnley in English Premier League. He plays as a striker at Burnley.
Early Career
He was born in Southhampton. He made his first step with the senior team Bournemouth and win 2-0 against Nottingham Forest. Sam‘s first goal came in a draw against Gillingham. After that game, people went to see what he was doing well, and the club gave him a 3- year contract. He played with Bournemouth for 5 years. After that he went to Wolves but did not find out there and often went on loan to other teams.
Burnley
On 31 July 2012, Sam Vokes signed a 3-year contract with Burnley. In the 2012-13 season, Burnley was playing in the Championship League, which is England‘s second league. He had not become Burnley‘s starting man, but usually sat on the bench and then came in. In the 2013-14 season, Burnley agreed a deal with Queens Park Rangers for the transfer of Charlie Austin. After that Sam Vokes can finally play a lot of games for Burnley and finished the season by 21 goals. 2016-2017, Burnley was in the top league in England, Barclays Premier League. Sam Vokes scored his first Premier League goal against Liverpool.
International career
Sam Vokes was born and grew up in England but he prefer to play for Wales, where his grandfather is from Wales. Sam Vokes was called up to the senior team to play against Iceland in a friendly match and Wales won the game 1-0. The first national team goal for Sam Vokes came in a game against Azerbaijen. The game ended 1-0 and Sam Vokes scored the only goal of the game.
