Sam Johnstone

Sam Johnstone is an English professional goalkeeper who currently is on a loan at Aston Villa from Manchester United. Johnstone started playing for the youth team for Manchester in 2010, and was then promoted to the professional team and after that he was immeadially sent on loan to Oldham Athletic. Sadly Johnstone has spent most of his time either on the bench at Manchester United or on loan at another lower league team. He has went 10 times on loan at 7 different teams from 2011 to 2017.

He is now doing well at Aston Villa, they are in the 4th place in the Championship and in a good chance of going up to the premier league. Johnstone has kept more clean sheet than any other keeper in the championship, and has been linked to many premier league clubs but he wants to stay at United and is at least going to play out his contract which runs out in 2019. It is unlikely that Johnstone gets to play for United as long as De Gea is the main goalkeeper for them. If Johnstone doesn‘t get to play for United next season then he will most likely leave to a bigger club because he could easily play for a lower team in the premier league and it wouldn‘t surprise me if he would at the end go on a sale to Aston Villa and play for them especially if they go up to the premier league.

Sam Johnstone has played altogether 31 games for the under national teams of England. With the national team Johnstone won the UEFA European under-17 Football Championship and he was in the English squad for the U-20 at the World Cup under U-20.
