Mahrez is a professional footballer who plays as a winger for English club Leicester City and the Algerian national team.
Early life
Mahrez started his career at the French club AAS Sarcelles. He played for 6 years with them and then transferred to Quimper Kerfeunteun. He only played one season with them and then transferred to Le Havre. He played with them for three years, initially playing for their reserve team and then becoming a first-team regular.
Leicester City
In January 2014, Mahrez signed for English side Leicester City. When Mahrez joined Leicester he thought it was a rugby club. His family didn't believe that he could play in the premier league because of its physical nature they thought he would suit Spanish football better. He made his debut in 2014 on 25 January, when he came on as a substitute in the 79th min in a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough. Leicester ended up winning the Championship and getting promoted to the Premier league.
2014-15 season
Mahrez made his Premier league debut on the 16 August 2014, and scored his first goal against Burnley in a 2-2 draw. They avoided relegation by winning seven out of there last nine games. He ended the season by scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Southampton he had four goals and had 3 assist in 30 games.
2015-16 season
On August 2015 he signed a new four year deal with Leicester. He scored two goals in first game of the season in a 4-2 home win. Wes Morgan said that Mahrez is there match winner because of his great form. He scored four goals in the first three games of the season and was nominated for the Player of the month. In January his transfer value went from 4,5 million pounds to 30,1 million pounds making him on of the most valuable players in europe. Mahrez was one of four players from Leicester to be nominated for the Team of the year, later that month he won the player of the year. Leicester finished as champions and that made Mahrez the first Algerian to win the Premier league.
In the 2017-18 season he was speculated to move to Arsenal, Roma and Manchester city but nothing went threw.
