Radja Nainggolan is a 29 year old, professional footballer from Belgium. He plays central midfield but he can play attacking midfield or defensive midfield. He plays for the Italian side, A.S. Roma. Nainggolan was born in May 4th, 1988 in Antwerp, Belgium. He is a twin, and his twin sister is a really good football player. She played for Beerschot just like Radja and from there she moved to Antwerp. After playing for Antwerp she came to Roma for a free transfer and ended her career there. Radja Nainggolan had a rough childhood. His father left him and his mother when he was young. And in 2010 his mother passed. Radja is known for being a chainsmoker, but that doesn't stop him for being a tremendous player who runs a lot in every game and wins almost every 50/50 ball.
Radja Nainggolan started playing for Tubantia Borgerhout when he was 5 years old and until he was 12 years old. Then he moved to the youth team of Beerschot. He played for them until the year of 2005, when he was noted by Alessandro Beltrami. Because of that he moved to Italy to play for the Seria B side, Piacenza. One year later he made his senior career debut, the 28th May 2006. After that he was a part of the first eleven of Piacenza. In 2010 Nainggolan was loaned to Cagliari and he played there for almost 4 years, until he was loaned to Roma, where he plays today. He made his debut for Roma in the Coppa Italia 2 days after being loaned. He was in the starting XI in that game and they won that game, which meant that they were going to compete against Juventus in the quarter finals 12 days later. Nainggolan played 90 minutes in that game. Nainggolan made a permanent deal with AS Roma in the off-season in 2015. Since then he has played 152 games for Roma, being an absolute key player, by scoring 31 and assisting 27 goals in those games.
His senior international career started in 2009, when he made his debut against Chile. He scored his first international goal against Côte I’divoire in March 2014. In the same year he was selected for the standby list for the 2014 World Cup, unfortunately he didn’t make the final cut. But he was a starter for the Belgium team, Red devils during the 2016 UEFA Euro qualifying campaign.
