Marko Arnautović is an Australian footballer who plays for West ham in the premier league and will be playing a big role for the national team this summer in the world cup. Marko was born in 1989 on april 19th in Vienna, Austria. He played for a few clubs in the Vienna area in his youth career. He played for under 19´s FC Twente in 2006-2008 where he helped them win the youth championship with 22 goals in 24 matches. He also did very well with Jong FC Twente, scoring 27 goals in 32 appearances.
Senior career
Marko made his FC Twente first team debut in the 2006-07 season as a substitute. He made 16 apperances for Twente in 07-08 season when they finished fourth and qualified for the Champions league. In 08-09 season Marko became more of a key player for the team playing 41 matches as well as scoring 14 goals and Twente finished second in the Eredivise.
In August 2009 he was loaned to Inter Milan. He was mostly hurt in his time there and did not make his debut until january 2010 and only played two more matches for inter before going to Germany to werder bremen on a 4year deal. He had only five goals in thirty four league apperances in the 10-11 season. He did a little better in the next season when he had six goals in twenty apperances. He had suffered an injury due to playing with his dog that season and did not play fot two months. His last season ended with 5 goals in 27 games.
He then moved to England to play for Stoke city under Mark Hughes management who thought of him as an exceptional talent and gave him the number 10 shirt right away. Marko played for Stoke for four years or from 2013-2017, he scored 22 goals in 125 games over those 4 years. Then he went over to West Ham where he plays today and is just about to finish his first season, he has 9 goals in 25 games for them and has been a big impact on keeping west ham in the premier league.
Since 2008 Marko has been playing with the senior national team, he now has 69 appearances and 19 goals. And hopefully will play a big role this summer in the world cup. Marko has often been described as arrogant and has a childlike behaviour, although most say he is also a nice person. Exactly like José Mourinho put it “Arnautovic is a fantastic person but has the attitude of a child”.
