Tevez joined West ham in August after playing with Boca Juniors and Corinthians. Tevez reportedly said that Tevez refused to play. According to the Telegraph, Tevez said the Brazilians did not like having a successful Argentinian in their country. He said “It’s like they don’t want an Argentine to succeed in Brazilian soccer. If nothing changes, I think it will be difficult for me to stay.” On 31 of August 2006, Tevez formally joined West Han alongside his teammate Javier Mascherano. A couple of premier league teams turned down the chance to sign him and Mascherano because of they were owned by third-party companies named MSI and Global Soccer Agencies.

Tevez did not have his dream start at Upton Park and neither were West ham playing well. West ham went on a nine-game winless streak, in which in seven of them they did not score. In November stormed away from the bench after he was substituted in a game against Sheffield United. In punishment, Tevez had to donate half and was supposed to wear train in a Brazil but he refused. According to Goal.com, he said: “I played in Brazil and have a great respect for Brazil and Brazilians but I’m Argentinean and won’t wear that shirt”. on January 6 2007, Tevez made his first start under a new manager and he scored his first West ham goal while also assisting two goals. West here fined 5.5 million pounds for the signing of Tevez and Mascherano. The hammers were warned to cancel any third-party arrangement in his contract unless Tevez would be deemed ineligible. West ham cancelled the clauses and he was cleared to play. Tevez scored in West ham final match of the season against Manchester United. It was the only goal and secured them a stay in the top flight.
In the following summer, Tevez was subjected to a lot of transfer rumours. He rejected a move to Inter in Italy stating that he had settled into the Premier League and that he wanted to stay in England. He did not guarantee that he would be a West Ham Player at the start of the next season. On 5 of July, Tevez supposedly was set to sign Manchester United. However, west appealed the transfer saying that they would block any transfers unless the received a majority of the transfer fee. The problem was that Tevez was still owned agencies in South America. West ham with FIFA assistance and West were paid by the 2 million pounds by the MSI and they released Tevez of his contract.
Tevez was signed by Manchester United on a two-year loan deal on 10 of August 2007. Alex Ferguson later confirmed that club would like to sign him permanently stating in an interview with Fox Sports that: “There is no question about his long-term future here. (United chief executive) David Gill has spoken to his agent and told him we are very happy with him, He'll get me 15 goals this season and what's more they will be important goals.” Contradicting what Ferguson said, Tevez only managed to score 5 goals on United´s Champions League Title winning season in 2007-08.
In May 2009 Tevez said that his time would come to an end in the summer and expressed his disappointment in not having been offered a permanent contract despite having not been playing badly in his opinion. After being benched for a couple of game, Tevez started in the Manchester derby on 10 of May 2008. He scored the second goal in the game and the fans were chanting “Fergie sign him up.” After the game, Ferguson told in an interview with the BBC about the Future of Carlos Tevez."It is categorically untrue Manchester United made an offer to try to persuade Carlos to stay."He knows I want him to stay. We spoke today and chief executive David Gill has had meetings with him, we have given him an offer and we hope he accepts. The problem is we are not negotiating with a football club."
His career took an unexpected turn when in June he said that he did not wish to play for Manchester United. Tevez agent, Kia Jorrabchian said that his decision was not money related. Chelsea and Manchester City were now the major contenders to sign him. Tevez decided to join United´s fierce rivals, Manchester City on 14 of July 2009. He became the first player since Terry Cooke in 1999 to move between the both Manchester clubs. Tevez had a great first season scoring 23 league goals and 29 goals in all competition. In addition, Tevez was voted Manchester city´s best player by fans and players.
The next season, Tevez was named Club captain, replacing Kolo Touré. Tevez continued his form from last season. Although in December, he submitted a transfer request. According to BBC, it was because of family reasons and relationships with certain club executive. He said: "It is something I have felt for some time and have spent many hours thinking this through." "I am disappointed that the management should now see fit to try to portray the situation in another light. "My relationship with certain executives and individuals at the club has broken down and is now beyond repair. I do not wish to expand on this at this stage. They know, because I have told them." However, his request did not last long and he formally withdrew his transfer request on 20 of December 2010. Tevez finished the season with 20 league goals and rumours were speculating that he would leave City in the summer.
At the start the 2011-12 season, Tevez lost his captain´s armband to Vincent Kompany. Despite that Tevez that he was still committed to City and that was not moving. Although his future was put into speculation as he refused to come on as a substitute in a champions league against Bayern Munich. On the one hand, City´s manager Mancini claimed he refused to come on as a substitute while on the other hand, Tevez claimed it was a misunderstanding. Because of this Tevez was suspended b City for a maximum period of two weeks. In addition, he was instructed to stay away from the training ground. Tevez then returned and started training on 14 of February 2012 after he publicly apologised. Despite the troubles, City became champions. Tevez contributed a small part to their success, only scoring 4 goals in al competitions.
In his final season, Tevez became the first ever Manchester City player to score 50 goals in the premier league. At the end clear that he would not be a Manchester City player for long and he signed for Juventus on 26 of June 2013 for 12 million pounds, ending his great career in England.
