Ashley Young

Ashley Simon Young (born 9 July 1985) is an English professional footballer who plays as a winger, a wing back or a full back for Premier League club Manchester United and the English national team.

Early life

Ashley Young started the football career at the academy at Watford, 10 years old. He played for eight years with the youth teams at Watford. After that he began to knock on the door of the main team. He was doing well at Watford, played 98 games and scored 19 goals for them.

In 2011, it was a big deal, he signed a 5-year contract with Manchester United. Ashley Young played his first game for the club, against Manchester city in the FA Community Shield . He performed well in the game. He played 90 minutes and make an assist. He has now played 143 games for the club and scored 13 goals. He is still playing for the club today, and has become an important player in the Manchester team.

International career

After a good performance at Watford, he was drawing attention to England‘s U-21 team. Peter Taylor‘s called him into the team. On 31 August 2007, Steve McClaren called Young up to the full England squad for the first time, to face Russia and Israel in the UEFA Euro 2008 qualifiers. He has not been a permanent member of the English national team. But I‘m confident he‘ll get those minutes today, considering how he‘s playing for Manchester United today.
