Everyone has opinion on a so called ´One Season Wonder´ some think they´re one of the best things about football, others think that it´s annoying to watch a decent player fall down from grace so quickly, like some of the guys on the list below.

Michu

Michu is probably one of the biggest One Season Wonder the Premier League has seen. After a 2 million transfer to Swansea City in the summer of 2012 the unknown spanish striker who came from Rayo Vallecano was amazing in his first season , scoring 18 goals and was named as Swansea´s Player of the Year for that season. The next seasons weren´t good for the center forward, having injury problems and not playing well. Swansea released him in november 2015 and he is now retired only 32-years of age.

Roque Santa Cruz

Roque Santa Cruz joined Blackburn in the summer of 2007 from Bayern Munich where he had gained decent success. Cruz´s first season with the Rovers was extraordinary, scoring 19 goals in 37 league appearances and was the fourth top-goalscorer of the season after Cristiano Ronaldo, Fernando Torres and Emmanuel Adebayor. Blackburn Rovers finished seventh in the league and Santa Cruz was named the Player of the Year. That season was Santa Cruz´s best season of his career by far. He has scored over ten goals in a season since the 2007-08 season. He is now playing Club Olimpia in his home country, Paraguay.

Michael Johnson

Michael Johnson was only 19 years old in the 2007-08 season where he played extraordinary football and was one of Manchester City´s best players that season. Injuries were a big factor in his career and Johnson had to retire in 2012 at the age of 24, which is just to young for a young prospect like Johnson. After that 2007-08 season, he was never like himself the rest of his career and a bad move on loan to Leicester City didn´t help as he only managed to play 7 game for the Foxes. He never managed to make an apparence for England.

DJ Campbell

DJ Campbell is one of the most known One Season Wonders as he has played for a many club. He´s had just about four good season´s in his career but just one of them was in the Premiers League with Blackpool in their only Premier League campaign in their history as a club. Campbell was the club´s top scorer with 13 goals in 31 games. After that season he didn´t perform very well except for the time when he was on loan at Ipswich where he managed to find the net 10 times in just 17 apparences.

Amir Zaki

Amir Zaki was more of a half-a-season wonder rather than a oe season wonder as he was on fire the first half of the 2008-09 season. He signed a one year loan deal with Wigan from Egyptian side, Zamalek. Zaki was amazing until December as he had scored ten goals in the league and was one of the leagues top scorers and was linked with one of the Premier Leagues biggest clubs but that must have got stuck in his head as he failed to register another goal the rest of the season and was soon sent back to Egypt.
