Long time Premier League manager Alan Pardew has managed quite a few clubs in England in his time, West Ham, Crystal Palace and West Brom have all had the Englishman as a manager, however while at Newcastle in a game against Hull City, the tigers midfielder David Meyler provoked the Newcastle boss who went on to headbutt the Irishman, a truly bizarre behaviour from an otherwise respected coach.

Sunderland beach ball goal vs Liverpool
A crazy goal that sits in every Liverpool and Sunderland fans memories after their 2009 fixture at the Stadium of Light where a red beach ball seemingly enters the pitch after being thrown around by Liverpool fans, a Sunderland attack resulted in a shot from Darren Bent straight at Liverpool stopper Pepe Reina, however, the beach ball got in between and changed the direction of the ball and giving Sunderland the lead. Liverpool fans were understandably furious after the match but the goal stood and a 1-0 win gave Sunderland all three points.

Steven Gerrard slips to miss out on Premier League Title
One of history’s greatest title collapses occurred in 2014 when Liverpool were set for a first ever Premier League title and were in flying form when they faced Chelsea, Liverpool had more often than not blown their opponents away and also displaying a fantastic performance against title rivals Man City. Steven Gerrard had muttered the famous words “this does not slip now” a few games before the match against Chelsea where a slip by Gerrard gifted Demba Ba Chelsea’s first goal. Chelsea would win the game 2-0 at Anfield, displaying some brilliant defending against the previously untouchable three in Suarez, Sterling and Sturridge. A 3-3 draw against Crystal Palace followed and allowed Man City to steal the title under the noses of the red army.

Luis Suarez bites Branislav Ivanovic
In a 2-2 draw at Anfield between Liverpool and Chelsea the late equalising goal from Suarez was not what grabbed the headlines, instead a bizarre moment where the striker bit Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic. The moment was caught on camera but not by any of the referees which allowed Suarez to stay on the pitch and score a 96th minute equaliser to cancel out Eden Hazard’s penalty. Suarez was eventually given a 10 match ban for his despicable behaviour. This was not the first time nor the last Suarez would bite an opposition player.

Leicester City win the Premier League
An unexpected fairytale is the best way to describe Leicester’s 2015-16 season where the previous season the foxes narrowly escaped relegation resulting in boss Nigel Pearson’s sacking and the appointment of Italian Claudio Ranieri which proved to be the best decision of all time made by the Leicester board as the team shocked everyone and won the Premier League comfortably by 10 points with a team featuring players like Jamie Vardy, N’Golo Kante and Riyad Mahrez, doubled with Wes Morgan’s great leadership and some brilliant performances from Kasper Schmeichel.

Joey Barton vs Man City
Premier League bad boy Joey Barton angered the footballing community with his behaviour in the Man City vs QPR match in 2012 where the scouser stupidly let his team down as a captain when he elbowed Carlos Tevez in the face in an important match for the Londoners in the relegation battle and receiving a straight red card issued by Mike Dean after being advised by his assistant. An elbow in the face was maybe not a big deal with Barton but his reaction to the card was what shocked the world when he kicked Sergio Aguero and was booed off, even Icelandic commentator Guðmundur Benediktsson demanded he’d be locked up in prison far away from a football pitch.

AGUEROOOO!!!!!
Our next feature comes from the same game. Love it or hate it, Sergio Aguero’s winner vs QPR in 2012 is one of the most beautiful moments in football history, when the title was sure to land in the red side of Manchester and the sky blues trailing to 10-men QPR 1-2 at home, two late goals from Edin Dzeko and the man Aguero created one of the most dramatic games in football history and truly a very shocking moment.

Kieron Dyer vs Lee Bowyer
A bizarre occurrence at St. James’ Park in Newcastle where two players fought after a bust up, the incredible thing is that the two players were on the same team. Notable troublemakers Kieron Dyer and Lee Bowyer, clearly unhappy with losing at home to Aston Villa, had a disagreement which in the end escalated into a full blown fight between the two, creating a shock moment in Premier League history, the conflict ended with the pair receiving each red card and later apologising for their behaviour.

Eric Cantona kicks fan
Crystal Palace fan Matthew Simmons will probably never forget the 1995 fixture between his team and giants Manchester United, however it will most definitely not be remembered by fans by Gareth Southgate’s 80th minute equaliser. Early in the second half, possibly the most shocking and unexpected moment in Premier League history when. After receiving a straight red card from referee Alan Wilkie, Cantona had to endure some heavy stick from fans, however Simmons was screaming abuse towards the Frenchman and with Cantona’s short fuse, a silly thing was inevitably going to be done by Cantona who in response kicked Simmons ‘karate’ style resulting in Cantona receiving a long domestic ban by the FA. Truly the most shocking moment in Premier League history.
