Champions League Semi-Final, Liverpool vs. Roma

Liverpool and Roma were not expected to by playing against each other in the Semi-finals. Liverpool had to beat the Premier League Champions, Manchester City that was not going to be an easy task. Roma had to play against the great Barcelona team. That surely didn´t break neither Liverpool nor Roma as they did the impossible and beat them. Liverpool made Manchester look bad and beat them 5-1 aggregate. Barcelona was in a great position as they beat Roma 4-1 in the first match. Roma came in the second game way more focused and hungrier that led to a 3-0 win for Roma and got them to the Semi-finals on the away goal.

Last Tuesday Liverpool and Roma played their first match against each out of two in the Semi-finals of the Champions League. The match was held in Liverpool at the great Anfield Stadium. The game started with a lot of heat and both teams had a few opportunities. On the 17th minute Oxlade- Chamberlain challenged Alexander Kolarov and hurt him bad in the ankle and suspected to be out for a long time. Liverpool played way better in the first half of the game and were constantly getting great opportunities. The first goal came on the 34’ minute from the great Mohamed Salah scored a fantastic goal for the red´s. The ball went in the top right corner and the goalkeeper had no chance saving it. Only ten minutes later Mohamed Salah scores the second goal for Liverpool after a great run by Roberto Firmino that passes the ball over to Salah, that finishes it up with a chip over the keeper. On the 55th minute Sadio Mané finally score after a pass from Salah. Mané was not playing his best in the first half as he was offside ones and missed two really good opportunities. Mohamed Salah was really on the ball as he made his second assist in only five minutes and this time Firmino was there to finish it up on the 60’ minute to make it 4-0 to Liverpool. On the 67’ minute Liverpool got a corner, Milner took the corner and that led to a goal after Firmino made a great header. After being 5 goals behind Liverpool, Roma didn´t give up and they scored two goals in the last 10 minuets of the game. These two away goals can change everything in the next game, as they now have to score 3 goals but still keep a clean sheet. It will be really exciting to see how the next game will go on Wednesday, May 2nd.
