Should we be looking more at the bottom teams then the top four race?

As we stand here in the begging of March everyone is focusing on the champions league race. I can see why because there are only six points separating the fifth and second team in the league but if we shift our focus to the other battle in this league you can see that there are only six points between 18th placed Swansea and 10th placed Watford. Obviously it´s a nightmare for the top six clubs to miss out on the champions league because of all the money but more importantly the players a team can attract. That point also stands for the bottom teams. As a player you choose a club in a higher division and there for you get more money since that club has more of it.

Not only that but the championship is not a good place to be for big clubs because it is a really difficult league, you have to play 46 games in the league alone, it´s a physical league and only the top two teams gain automatic promotion.

Just this year we are seeing a team that has been a premier league side for years get relegated in Sunderland and they are struggling and sit bottom of the championship, they are looking at back to back relegations.

That is a nightmare for a club. Right now with ten games to play West Brom are 20th seven points from safety. But over them in the relegation zone wee have Stoke City and Swansea with 26 and 27 points. Then we have Crystal Palace and Southampton who have the same amount of points as Swansea but a better goal difference. In 15th Newcastle sit with 29 points, then Huddersfield and West ham both have 30 points. So as you can see this race is one of the tightest we have seen in a while. Only three points separating 18th and 13th. Usually it´s said that 38 points is enough to keep you up so with ten games left these teams will be looking for around ten points. There are some huge premier league sides in the mix like Stoke City, Southampton, Newcastle and West Ham. I encourage you to follow this great relegation battle for the next three months.
