Philippe Coutinho finally joins Barcelona!

Barcelona confirm the signing of Philippe Coutinho. Its said they payed £142million for the Brazilian that makes him the second most expensive player ever. With Neymar being the most expensive when he left Barcelona for PSG for £200million.

Barcelona tried three times this summer to sign him but Liverpool wouldn’t let him go. When the teams got to an agreement Barcelona announced the player straight away.

He will sign a 5 years contract with the team. He will play in the number 14 jersey witch is the same number as Johan Cruyff played in.

Coutinho started playing at a team called Vasco da Gama. When he was 16 years old he was bought by Internazionale (Inter). Rafael Benítez was the new head coach and said he was the future of Inter. And as we know it was Rafeal Benítez who brought Coutinho to

Liverpool later in his career. In the 2011-2012 season Coutinho struggled to perform in the Seria A so he was sent on loan to Espanyol. In 2013 Liverpool sign the Brazilian for only £8.5Million. Rafeal Benítez said the player was world class.

Coutinho made 202 appearances for Liverpool and scored 54 goals for them.
