Last night can be described as disastrous for Liverpool, losing 1-0 away to struggling bottom team Swansea who before last night’s fixture had only won two home games this season in the Premier League. Incredibly disappointing for Liverpool who last weekend became the first team to beat league leaders Man City this season in the league.
Liverpool showed once again their lack of consistency last night as they failed to score against the bottom team when just a week ago they picked apart the potential champions’ defence easily.
Alfie Mawson took the lead for the Swans, and delight struck the Welsh city as they have had few things to celebrate for the past few months, and they took their lead into half time. Liverpool dominated possession in the second half and in total had 21 shots with no success. A disappointing result for the Red Army in Wales.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was furious after his team’s performance and told Sky Sports that his men had lost the game in the first half, with players going out of positions. “It was not a good game” said the colorful german. (Sky)
With last night’s result Liverpool failed to take 3rd place and now move only two points ahead of Spurs in 5th.
