Is Emre Can Leaving the Premier League?

The German midfielder Emre Can started his carrer at Bayern Munich, played there for 2 years then joined Bayer Leverkusen and played 29 games and scored 3 goals. On 3 July 2014 Liverpool bought him for £9.75 million. It was Brendan Rodgers that got him to England. Before Brendan signed Emre Can he described the midfielder „as an inspirational young talent“.

Emre Can was 20 years old when he joined Liverpool, he has been there for 4 years and thinks that he needs a new challenge. Emre Can doesn‘t want to renew his contract with Liverpool, His contract ends this summer. There has been rumour running around for a long time now that Emre Can is joining Juventus in the summer.

Steven Gerrard said in a TV show (BT) that Liverpool needs a holding midfielder like Victor Wanyama (Tottenham) before he said that, he said: „We‘ll have to see what happens. Emre Can is leaving but (Naby) Keita is coming in“. (Daily-Mail).

Now it will be exciting to follow Emre Can‘s next step. This „young“ midfielder is such a leader on and off the pitch. He is a big role model for young players. Emre Can has been a key player for Jurgen Klopp this season so it will be a big miss if he leaves, but hopefully for Liverpool that Naby Keita is going to do good at Anfield when he arrives this summer.

You can of course understand Emre Can decision because the football career is not so long. If he wants to win the big trophies like Champions league he has to leave and join a bigger club like Juventus. Juventus has been in the Champions league finals three times the last four years, but have never won. Emre Can has played 111 games for Liverpool and scored 9 goals. The midfielder hasn‘t won a trophy with Liverpool
